Downloading anything from that site would require you to log in and each download would whitelist that specific model for your account, so Warden knows you're using an official model. I'm talking about cosmetic changes that whole thing ran through an official site, it could actually be done pretty simple. Lots of the stuff, players are bitching about, would be gone over night.Ĭompletely read & understand what you reply to. Yeah, it would require a new staff and some development to get this going, but imagine the benefit. There'd need to be some sort of mechanism to ensure, that the player doesn't secretly swap an official model with an inofficial one, but I'm sure, there are plenty of ways to identify any alterations of that nature.

If such modding is to happen then it would it would have to be limited to instanced content.Completely read & understand what you reply to. Modding such as custom maps suits games where players are not otherwise interacting with much until they are inside such scenario. Most modded games do not have the large world which a significant number of players have to share. Those models could be whitelisted, so that Warden doesn't go off, if someone uses them. That stuff would have been uploaded by other players and checked and approved by Blizzard. Maybe something like an official online database could be established, where players can browse and download stuff.
MOST MODDED GAMES INSTALL
People should not be able to turn their WoW into a bug-infested piece of junk, while trying to install the 4gb big breasts anime nude-model patch.

Allowing players to actually create content like quests or alter any game-mechanics just wouldn't work out, so let's forget about that. Now, when I talk about modding in WoW, I mean stuff like new models, animations, textures, spell effects, sounds etc. They did say, that they lack manpower, so why wouldn't they want to make use of all those great artists out there, who would gladly design stuff for them? Probably even for free. It also creates a strong modding-community, which would become a breeding ground for awesome ideas and content, ready to be reaped by Blizzard. Modding is why some really old games are still being played today. I would love to see WoW becoming more mod-friendly. I find that topic quite interesting though and I'd like to hear some more opinions on that, which is why I made this thread. I wrote the following paragraph in another thread, but it didn't seem to get anyones attention.
